Look closely. It says Axela. On the badge and in the third brake light and in the corner reflectors.

It’s almost definitely not an Axela.

It sorta is?  It’s just another name for the Mazda3 sold elsewhere.

It most definitely is! Axela is the name used in JDM markets and elsewhere in the world for the Mazda 3.

My best friend in college got the axela badges for his 3. We autocrossed a few times a month and I have to agree with the others - Axela is a  correct name.

Is it? What does it mean? Axel - a. Alexa. The numeric naming we get on our Mazdas lacks soul, but it makes sense.

Also. I find this sort of pointless “modification” untrustworthy

Yes but pfft. This is a Mazda3. This is an Australian domestic market Mazda Mazda3. Lets not lie about it shall we.

Sidenote I do prefer the Fairlady name on the Nissan Zs. But I’d never fuck around trying to replace every fucking surface of the car with the name. And Fairlady is a good name, Axela is just a boring name. EXCEPT IT’S JDM

It is far more trustworthy than “M” badging on a BMW.

To put it another way - you know how the buick lacrosse was called the “allure” in C anada? Or how the saturn Vue was badged as the chevrolet Captiva in Canada? Nothing changed between the two besides the names . This is the case here. Mazda 3 = Mazda Axela.

If you’re so hung up on it then at least realize that people like you are why every company has gone away from actual names and wants a mishmash of letters and numbers for every vehicle now.

I’ve never seen a Buick or a Saturn ;)

I think I’m just mad because he clearly thinks he’s being JDM. That’s the only reason this would be considered “cool”

Haha. This is cool. Dredging up an old name that nobody even really loved. I don’t fully get it, but it’s cool.

It’s also not trying to be JDM which is much better.

I mean there’s similarity and there’s identically the same—it’s a technicality.

This particular car, being an Aus model, is NOT an Axela. Sure, the car itself is the same, but different. But still the same. But different.

Plus, I’m sure the JDM Axela is not built with the exact same configuration. Markets and tastes  differ and options are assembled differently.

That’s why JDM models are so desirable, and JDMness is so cool.

Sticking on badges to pretend your cool. That’s not very cool.

But they are the same. But different. Those headlights you see are my actually JDM MR2. The difference is that my insurance company thinks it doesn’t exist and I’m not even sure if I’m covered. JDM yo
